What Makes Good Conversation?

I know you have experienced the uncomfortable silence while being out with your date at least once in your life.

How did that make you feel?

Did it make you feel uncomfortable since the conversation wasn't going well?

Sometimes one second of silence can seem like an eternity! This is something that happens to us all so don’t beat yourself over it cause it is bound to happen again.

The goal is to try to keep this from happening often.

You can easily keep the conversation moving by asking a few key questions while your date is speaking.

Keep these five questions handy at all times. How, what, when, why, and where?

I know what you may be thinking. Why would I have these in my repertoire when I should be the one talking? Great question!

The reason why is because the evening belongs to your date and you want him or her to feel important. Remember, if you spend all night talking about how great you are, how boring is that going to be for your date?

Now, I am not saying to never start a topic of conversation, but you want your date to brag about themselves since they will feel important. Trust me on this one.

If there becomes a moment of silence, then by all means you can initiate the conversation. Just don’t be the one who keeps talking all night long.

There are many topics of conversation that you can bring up when the time is needed so I will only speak of a few and leave the rest up to you.

The goal is that the conversation should always be about your date so never ever forget that and you will win the game. For example, if your date is really into her work by what she has told you earlier in the evening, you may want to ask her what was her biggest accomplishment thus far in her current position. If your date is into creating art or music, explain that you would love to see or hear the piece when the opportunity creates itself.

You see the conversation is always revolving around your date so make him feel important by asking these questions about what they love doing. If and when your date asks questions about you, then you can talk about what you are into, but don’t drag on all night about it.

To wrap this up, it really isn’t about what the best conversation tips I can provide, but how important it is to make your date feel important.

If your date feels like a queen or king, then you have accomplished this topic. Have Fun!
